I have been think of a way to cut down on humidity in the house. I was surfing the internet and found something that will work great.

Its a Stanley Pivoting Blower Fan:

Point it up plumb it to the window. Add a piece of plywood out the window and use a dryer vent to the out side. Run it with the lights so it turn off at night. When summer (warmer weather) hits then run it 24/7. Has to be cheaper then running a dehumidifier?

Here is what I made:

Got it up and running yesterday. Keeps the fish room and house humidity down. Works for me just wanted to share the idea..

Nice rig......do you run it on a low or high speed?? I'd have to run it on low in our basement, so as not to create a 'Venturi' effect and pull air down the water heater vent and snuff the pilot..

I run it on a medium setting on a timer with the light so it running all day. Combined with the dehumidifier I got off of craigslist (for FREEEEEE. 8) ) my humidity run from 50-60 depending on how warm it is out side.
