I'd like to know who on here has used Purigen in your filters for ''polishing'' your tank water and what experience you had with it.

Didnt notice a difference when I used it. Im with jon you want a super clear tank use a diatom filter once a week. I use a hot magnum hang on filter with diatom earth powerder when I want to really polish a tank up

Yep....I used to use it. It definitely works well. Then I moved on to a carbon as needed that a reef tank person told me about.

Now that I've settled into a routine of lots of water changes and low tech planted tanks I occasionally use a regenerated Purigen bag or, most of the time, the reef carbon.
