Norway will shut down FM radio in the country beginning in 2017, Radio.no reports. The Norwegian Ministry of Culture finalized a shift date this week, making it the first country to do away with FM radio entirely. The country plans to transition to Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) as a national standard.

A statement released this week by the Ministry of Culture confirms a switch-off date that was proposed by the Norwegian government back in 2011. The government has concluded that the country is capable of meeting all the requirements necessary for a smooth transition to digital.

Let's hope that doesn't happen here.
If it's anything like our switch to digital it will suck.

Please God, don't let them do the same thing here in the States.

I haven't had my antenna connected to my receiver since i moved 11-12 years ago,and the only thing i'm missing is a commercial blaring after every song, what a disaster.

TV and the internet are at least as bad, life is nothing but one giant freaking commercial.

May I suggest that you listen to your local public broadcasting stations?  No advertisements and it might actually improve your mind.

We've got many stations here that run commercial free hours. When I am out in the fish house if I have the radio on it's pretty much commercial free also. They rarely even give the time. Which sucks. Usually out there too late.

My local public broadcasting station is good at giving the time every 20 minutes in the mornings because they make use of the breaks during the national news to do local updates.  They don't give the time on NPR because folks listen to that programming all over the world.

We have a great public radio network here in Mississippi.  It covers the entire state and goes into other states.  They ask for money twice a year and I always give them money.  It would be selfish of me not to.

The viagra is for you and the tylenol is for the wife's headache right?

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's snobbery and one-upmanship. People trying to pretend they're superior. Makes it so much harder for those of us who really are.

I just want the tylenol. She gives me a headache.

We finally both agreed on sex recently.
