See those square displays in the front with the blue backgrounds.  Those are what I helped make when I was still working.  Don't recall if we made the displays for the Columbia, there are a couple other manufacturers.

It was a blast. I used to design the motherboards for those types of displays.  I really enjoyed the work, something different every day.  Great company and great people to work with (well mostly).  It took a while to convince myself to finally retire.

,,,bet you were working with chip sets that most of us will not likely see..... huh....

I went through HS will kids whose folks worked at JPL.....the things we'd hear were 'out of this world'.....
