Jon, do you condition your fish in any manner to get them to spawn?

Yes, I do....I know the different pair spawning schedules very well...I regularly feed (over feed) everyone well anyway, but several days, or so, before they're due to get started, I feed more blood worms, brine shrimp, etc to bulk em up and get extra protein in them both...when I see them begin to clean an area, I do a bigger than usual water change......then let nature take it's course...

I need to order me some frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp.  I depend on live CBWs to condition mine, and they're expensive!  Where do you purchase yours, Mug?

Mostly at the big swaps, like the GCCA....there are always a vendor or two selling one pound slabs of each for about $7, or so.....when out and no swaps....the Hikari blood worms are the best...

Back when I was actively trying to induce breeding in fish I use to use the formula in Axlerods handbook. Worked well. Also use to use tubifex worms. Don't see those anymore.

I won't use tubifex.  They'll breed in sewer water and can carry disease.  CBWs are clean and safe.

Mug, I tried frozen brine shrimp back when I mostly bred Discus.  The fish did not like them.  Do the angels scarf them down?

I remembered, when I was feeding FBWs I used to order from Fosters Smith.  I think I'll go with Dan at Aquatic foods this time.  His prices include shipping and he's a sponsor here.

Mug, do your Angels really like the frozen brine shrimp?  I don't want to order them and have them turn their noses up at them like Discus do.
