I'm gonna go back to fish for steel head again. Leaving tomorrow early, in time to watch the Seahawks play the Packers. Will be fishing for natives on Monday and Tuesday. Last month we fished for hatchery fish.

I'm taking my laptop and hope to get on the forum some in the evenings.

Go Hawks!!!!!

We got there Sunday in time to watch Seahawks play Green Bay. WHAT A GAME!  Monday the water was too high to be safe and too cloudy to do any good, so we drove all over the coast of the North Olympic Peninsula checking out RV parks for some future trips. Tuesday we got a late start to let the water recede and clear a little more. Then we took off for the river. The day was beautiful with sunlight and in the upper 40s. It was my buddy's 48th birthday ( yes, I hang out wit a younger crowd sometimes!!!) and we had birthday cake for breakfast before we left. He caught 3 and I caught 2 native steelhead. They were beautiful and fought harder than the hatchery raised ones. Took me 10 minutes to land the second one. I can't believe the strength of those fish. It was fighting my line and the current at that point. We didn't keep the the natives. We want them to continue to spawn and increase in numbers and strength.

A great trip! And I missed you all. Now I'll work on catching all the postings I missed while gone.

Sounds like a fun trip....years ago, a bunch of friends, and myself, used to take 4-5+ ?.. days and travel up to No Wisc. to the flowages....we'd grab a couple cabins, boats..yada yada and just fish and drink beer.....a great time.......in between we would each throw $5 a week in the kitty/bank account...and save for the next year....LOL.....it made for an expense free time, 1st class all the way.....

Well, when you see one of your best friends....drunker than a skunk.....at about 5 am, trying to catch the circling bats with a rather large fish net.....you don't soon forget.....LOL....
