Nope.  I'm not fond of corn bread.  I like mine with French bread.  My supermarket imports the real thing from New Orleans.  It's very very hard to find good French bread outside of New Orleans.

Just took the chili out of the oven.  It is perfection.  I put a ham hock in this one along with the beef.  I'm glad I tried that.  I want to eat it but I never eat chili the first day.  After it cools a bit I'll pop it in the fridge and eat it for the next few days and freeze the rest.  Tonight I'm having crab cakes.  They're frozen but they come from the Alabama gulf coast.

lid on the pot and pop it in a 325 degree oven for 4 hours.  You could also use a crock pot if you want it to take longer or a pressure cooker if you want it done fast.  The part that takes most hands on time is browning the meat in small batches.  I'm not a fan of stovetop with chili.

Can we change the subject, please?  Since I've quit smoking I've been eating twice a day, not once.  I'm gaining weight.  I don't like it, but what am I to do?  I won't start smoking again in order to be thin.
