Plastic works in stores at Christmas time....why can't it work in tanks?

What fish are  you keeping in the planted tanks?
What plants have you tried?

I have angelfish in my planted tanks long with cories and bristlenose.  I currently have some crypts, anubias and some type of water sprite. 

Let me clarify and my plants don't just die.  They just don't thrive under my LED lighting which are real nice for looking at my fish but don't seem to provide enough lighting to enable the regular plants to grow strong enough to beat out the algae that has taken over the tanks. 

I know I am also heavy handed when it come to feeding and I change out about 30 to 40 percent of the water twice a week.  No CO2 or ferts are added to these tanks.

There are stronger LED lights available out there that will work better. I'm thinking you have the smaller/weaker ones...

I can get my java moss to grow with the weak led lighting but thats about it. It's doesn't grow like crazy with that light.  My sister is growing Indian water weed in low light. That stuff is able to grow in a cup. It's a very easy plant that doesn't need much. I like the Topdogseller on ebay. I have gotten alot of my lighting from them.
I have a few new leaves growing on the flame sword.  Also the crypt has new growth.  I took back my sisters crypt. It was starting to wilt. She doesn't have the light that it needs.

I got my LED lights from Topdogseller also Scott.  I haven't melted any plants lately but I'm just not getting much growth. The fish look good though.

I'm thinking of redoing my 40g breeder into a planted tank now that the price of the plant leds have been coming down.

I like that one.  Look like it will do good by the plants. Funny, I just finished breaking down my 40g breeder.  It had gotten way out of hand with algae growth under the other LEDs.
