tore down my pond yesterday, brought in a lot of great looking floating plants. now i want to put them in my tanks, how do you clean the plants to be sure there is no parasites or any other nasty's on them before i put them in my tanks

Some folks use a real mild bleach dip....a few minutes then rinse...others soak in peroxide water, pour a $.49 bottle in a bucket of water and soak overnite...rinse and soak again to check, either way....

Does powdered Alum just work on snail removal or does it help get rid of other stuff too?  Always wondered this.

Good call, Liz.....but you'll need to rinse it well, and watch for sensitive plants too.....
