While at the GCCA swap someone was selling used Hydro parts.  He had 2 large fish bags worth for 5 bucks a piece.  I brought both for 7 bucks.  Out of these parts I have already assembled 12 filters with more parts available.  I soaked them in a heavy bleach bath for 24 hours and they look like new.  All I need is sponge media( I have some but need more ) and tubing for the lift tubes (I have some of that too) and I can start reducing the hob's that I currently run. I thought it was a steal. ;D ;D ;D

Yes, it was....you can get replacement sponges from JEHMCO, etc....cheap too..They will take a week, or so, to seed good. After that you're good to go...you can run the occasional hob filter with floss to help with debris after a big water change, like a reserve...yada yada

That sounds like a steal. That's why I like the swaps. I can't get sponge filters let alone parts around where I live unless I order them. when people see my tanks that's one of the first questions. What's the black thing in your tank? I think I asked Jon the same thing the first time I seen them too.

I got them from the guy that was selling food and other stuff right next to Captain Bob.  In fact I thought he was the Captain at first. LOL ;D ;D ;D
