Roger McCluskey or Lloyd Ruby.  In 1973 Sunoco chartered a bus and took a bunch of us over to time trials.  Got to wonder around the pit area kick the tires, etc.  Never was my cup-of-tea, but it was a great experience.

I'm a born Hoosier, my grandfather lived just blocks from the Speedway when I was a young lad. The 'trials' are the best for action....These cars now days whine....years ago they had the 'offie's' and Novi Specials....they  roared....and loud. I've been to many,many 500's, but way more time trials....good times..fun on race day...

Looks to be some rain down that way for the race....but, usually is rain there this time of year. They've gotten better at drying the track tho...
