Stormy Tuesday Afternoon

Good evening everyone. It was pretty stormy here this afternoon after a hot and very humid morning.

I've been pretty busy today but I wanted to jump on here to let you all know that my Discus are doing pretty good today aside from doing a little sparing among themselves. The ate well this and came to greet me and feed out of my hand. I used one of those food service gloves to put my hand in the tank. I will keep you all posted. Thanks again Liz.

No need to thank me, Willie.  Helping folks who are having Discus problems is about my favorite thing to do.  It makes me feel not totally worthless.  Al is the best, though.  He's my go-to when I'm stumped over something with mine.  Right now my Discus are getting over with a resistant strain of hex.  He had me dose them with a whopping big dose of metro in combination with kanamycin.  I had no clue that they worked synergistically.  He's a biologist by training, you know.

After waiting for over 2 years, I had my AC in the car fixed today.  Turns out that the problem wasn't the compressor.  It was a little Schrader valve (like the valve stem in a car tire).  Freon has gone sky high, but I got out for $250. for that and an oil change.  And guess what?  The next few days will be cooler out!  Still baking hot, but not broiling like it has been.  With the good news from the dentist about my new medicare coverage and now this, it's been a damn good week so far.

I'm not as dead tired as I have been over the past several days.  I got the big water change done on all the tanks, with lots of sitting in between each as they filled and drained.  I'm looking forward to a good read rather than zonking mindlessly in front of the tube.  But I'll still be getting in the sack early right after I feed Charlotte dinner which will be right after I finish this beer.  See y'all tomorrow, friends.
