Morning all.  It was supposed to rain all during the night but it didn't happen.  Now they say it will start around noon.

I'm going to start the day by doing a WC on the 2 tanks in the office.  That will give me a better idea of how my back is doing.  If My back says to go for it, I'll do some more digging, transplanting, and mulching.  If not, I guess I'll be stuck watching fish.  Fingers crossed.  I'm due for a good day.

What's up with everyone else?

Good afternoon Liz and everyone. The day started off pretty cold but the sun is out and it's supposed to get into the mid 60s this afternoon. Coffee was great.

Resetting up the 55 that crashed on me last week with my eye on using it for growing out some Plat P/S Angels. I'll probably sterilize it first just to be on the safe side.

...'Morning guys and gals...cereal was good today..I added a Bosc pear to it this morning...

...Still haven't got the new cacti in the ground and I guess we should be doing that today, being as how we really don't want them to dry up in their pots!...

The ongoing saga of the 125:

So I went to Homely Depot and got some flex hose for my fx4...got back ...put it altogether...put enough grungy filter water in the canister....more in the tank to cover the siphon intake...closed up tje canister...set all the valves in correct positions...plugged it in....NOTHING! ....WHAT A @%$#×&%$$....!

Putzed with the outlets....all were good....motor wasn't making a sound and not getting hot...

The seller never got back to me...

Started looking at costs for new motor....oh boy!....then I came across the Fluval YouTube for fx4 motor maintenance....took it apart...cleaned some snail shells out of the impeller casing and now it's pumping the water thru....

I do have leaks where I joined the hoses, so I fixed it so it leaked into the tank and will fix today....whew! ....it was a long week yesterday..! 😁

This whole ordeal was not without lotsa water spilling onto the floor..!! :-X :-X ....but I was vigilant and used about 10 towels from my stash to keep it from ruining the floor boards...!

Sounds like you did a lot of work, Ron.  But in the end what most matters that you made it work.  Congrats.

It's beautiful.  When do you plan on adding the fish?

I spread all my mulch.  All they had was shredded shavings that were died red.  I hate that.  It looks so artificial, but It will have to do.  It will still break down and make the soil more friable.  With my clay gravel dirt I need that.  I didn't want to push it by digging and transplanting.  Maybe tomorrow...

The rain still has not arrived although there are tornado warnings in many counties.  Sometimes I hear thunder and the tree frogs sing, expecting rain.  Then the sun comes out.  Weird weather.  After I got done with the mulch I sat on my behind and admired my work.  They I moved to the chicken yard and enjoyed watching the chickens.  Finally, I moved to the garden and sat on my ass and watched it grow.  Fish have been fed.  Now I'll make a nice meal and rest my old back for a while.  Not an exciting life, but the best I can do.

I wonder what Barb is up to.

...well just as I said out loud, "That was an easy fix, one of the hose connections blew apart...my dry towels are now in the dryer again!... this time I used a hose clamp on both sides of the connection...

...I can add the 2 severums today or tomorrow....90% of the  in it is from the  the severums are in now...

...all I think I need now is more light...I'm going to use warehouse LEDs...this  will emphasize the , not the plants, so I will go low tech...

...toward the end of the day now and no more leaks!.. ;D

...Got all the recently purchased cacti and succulents in the ground...squatting and bending really gets me...there are some tall arbor vitae that the former owners have let go in the back of the house...I still had energy so i started trimming out dead limbs...mostly standing up for this...

...time to start the grill for the pork center loin chops...
