In our area this weekend there will be two local events. Genoa will have 'Genoa Days' with a parade, carnival, and many other happenings. Down the road about 5 miles, Malta will have 'Malta Days' a very similar event....lots of food and activities...including a vendor/craft show.

Jan and Aut, will set up and sell their homemade crafts. Aut makes nice jewelry, and Jan sews/crochets some nice items.

  Both events last all weekend.

Anybody else have anything in their local?

There's a craft beer festival in Hattiesburg tomorrow.
Always move forward. Never look back.

I did a show in Little Chute Wisconsin a few weeks ago for their Cheese Festival.  Now one might surmise an event in Wisconsin with a name like the Wisconsin Cheese Festival would have some pretty darn good deep fried cheese curds.  One might be wrong.  Two booths selling deep fried cheese curds.  Both were frozen.  Probably purchased at the local wal mart.  Very very disappointed.  Quite possibly the most disappointed I have even been regarding a food item.  You know, how you are really anticipating some really good food and it turns out to be ... crap.  Its possible that one of the food wagons may have had some of the real deal but I didn't see any.  Heck, the cheese curds McDonalds had this past winter had these beat by a mile, a hundred miles even.

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's snobbery and one-upmanship. People trying to pretend they're superior. Makes it so much harder for those of us who really are.
