I'm trying not to get excited.  The pair is from my keepers from my first Blue SilverXHB's.  They've been protective of the cone for tow days now but have not spawned yet.  I'm trying to restrain myself.  I want to yank them now and give them a love nest.  The Discus people say to leave them in with their predator siblings, let them guard the eggs a couple of times before giving them a love nest.

I think I'll start changing the water in their tank with RO.  At least if this pair spawns the eggs will have a chance of hatching and the pair will have wigglers to guard.  The lower temp RO might set a couple of the other males and females off.

....I see no harm in moving them, if you want to.....but agreed, I like a pair to spawn once to bond a bit.....then move them...

Thanks Willie.

I have decided to change their water with RO and let them spawn in that water once before I move them.  They don't let their siblings near the breeding cone and they got pissed off at me when I gave that tank a WC.  I have a feeling that this pair has what it takes.  All my HB's used to parent raise up until a year or two ago.  Now, nothing but disappointment huh  My theory is that my strain has become too inbred.  I'll be getting a chance to test my theory.
