Happy Easter

Good morning everyone. Happy Easter to you all. It is a chilly day here but at least it will be sunny. We had Thorms all night and after 12 years of being on this earth Kobe decided it was a good time to be scared of lightning and thunder. He kept me up half the night.

When I was a young kid my parents would take us to my grandmother's house on Easter Sunday. We would take the subway from Brooklyn to the Bronx and had to take 4 trains. Surprisingly with all of the train transfer it only took us an hour to get there. My thoughts are with them today.

I am still trying to figure out what I want to do today but the first thing I am going to do is season up a couple of N.Y. Strip steaks for dinner. I'll eat one today and one tomorrow. That will satisfy my beef desire until the end of this month.

What are you all doing on this Easter Sunday? Whatever it is, have a great day doing it.  |^| |^| |^|

Good Easter Morning Willie, Ron and Barb.  Thanks for the card, Barb.

I spent yesterday morning hunting for a spark plug.  I tramped through 2 Dollar Stores and a big gas station.  All this because I didn't want to make the 24 mile round trip to Ellisville.  By the time I got home all the walking wore me out to the point where I didn't have the energy to fix the mower.  At least I got the generator running before I left.  I put a good load on it and it worked fine.  You're supposed to do that every month and it has been a while since my generator wanted to run.

I ran into Tina at the Dollar Store in Eastabuchie.  I'd been there 3 times looking for her and she was always off work.  Turns out she mostly works nights.  She's the girl who used to work for Ken and Twee.  She's the only one capable of doing fish chores while I'm recovering from the back surgery which I am once again unsure of having.  But that's another story.

Today I'll see what I can do with the mower and mow some if I can make it run.  I'll drain the old gas and run some new gas through the carb.  If it doesn't want to start when I fill the tank I'll try starter fluid.  I bought a can yesterday.  It won't fix an old plug but I bet it will get me going until I go to Auto Zone.

Barb I'm afraid that I still have not planted your bulb.  I know where I want it and if I can get the mower running and get that area mowed and the grass on the future bed Round Upped I'll get it in the ground today.  I'm afraid that since I can't build a fence in that area I'll have to plant only things I know that the chickens and horse won't eat.
Always move forward. Never look back.

Barb

Hi everybody!  Lovely here today, but tonight, tomorrow and longer it will pour rain, wind, and get cold  |brr|
And I have my veggies planted in my newly made veggie patch.  Now I will have to protect them from 37 degrees tomorrow night  |brr|  It is NOT supposed to get this cold now.  Liz your animals may eat those new little elephant ears that first come up.  You will have to protect them somehow.  Willie I will send you a good sized one to plant next Spring.

I will soon fix my Tbone steak for dinner.  Harris Teeter had them on sale for $8.99 lb, reg, $19 lb.  So I got several and froze them.  Went to visit my mom today, they had a great lunch for the residents.  Key Lime pie for dessert.  I took her a box of fancy truffles shaped like eggs.  Her dementia continues to worsen.

Hope you all have a good rest of the day, Happy Easter to you all.

Barb, that's how I buy my steak now too. I get a lot of it when it's on sale and freeze it. |^| |^| |^|

Hi gang!...

This day was lazier than yesterday...Lucy went to the clubhouse to help Barbara prepare Easter brunch...I did WCs on the the 2 - 75s while she did that...brunch was at 11 and really good... when I got back home the fellow I had the chocolate gourami came by and we visited in the fishroom for an hour...a good time!...
The rest of the afternoon I just putzed and played word games on my iPad  :P :P :P

We have a new grocery store near us...Aldi...bought some ribeye steaks there last week and had them one night...never again from there...no flavor and rubbery texture! >:(

I see that you gardeners are getting going now...I planted a cactus we bought in one of our large Mexican pots in the front yard...does that count? :D :D :D

I do hope that you folks enjoyed your Easter 🐣

Goodnight from the desert!
Happy Aquariuming,
Ron
