The Malay word orangutan means "person of the forest."  My grandfather had this Time-Life book that had a photo where this "person of the forest" was looking through a crook in tow very large tree limbs.  The photo was exciting and chilling at the same time.....

I grew up in the DC area and wen to the National Zoo a lot when I was younger (I lived across the road from it for a year when i was four).
Once I went there and they had animal keepers with several baby animals out so people could interact with and pet them (doubt they would do that nowaday). Anyhow they had a baby oragutan out. It was holding onto the keeper's head and and neck. It was somewhat like a hairy baby but had very long arms compared to humans.
