I cannot waste a chicken carcass.  There's flavor in them there bones.  I know that when the temps are in the 90's it not the right time for a stew, but I had to make one.  Made the stock first then I added barley and let it simmer.  I just put in the kale and my other favorite veggies.  The timer just went off.  It's ready.  I'm hungry.

yum, that sounds good....when I was a youngster, the lady(husband) next door were our landlords...Mr and Mrs Cappatani were the greatest folks. Mrs 'Cap' would boil chickens in a huge pot for broth...then cook here homemade ravioli and tortellini in the broth....I loved it...fact is I can smell the memory.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D...they had goats/chickens,,,grapes, which Mr Cap made wine from.....the best 'dago' red you've ever tasted...bar none... ;D

I had Hungarian relatives....from scratch chicken soup with home made dumplings and chicken paprikash to die for.  Yum.
When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.  (Sweatpants & Coffee)
