?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ?Wow! What a Ride!? ~ Hunter S. Thompson

I'm making whole grain rice, which I've never done before. It bubbled 45 minutes but its still like soup. I'll try taking the lid off and simmer till its fluffy. Maybe its not cooking the way its suposta because I put a ton of butter in there... that's the only I will eat it.

By whole grain rice do you mean brown rice.  If so:

Heat some butter in a skillet
When it's bubbly put in rice
Stir rice occasionally until somewhat browned
Turn temp to high
Pour in the liquid.  I like chicken stock the it depends on the dish the rice will be served with.
Bring to a boil
Cover.
Simmer at a low bubble for 45 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve
Always move forward. Never look back.

The owner of the hotel put us on to a fish fry. It was delightful.

I will cook it your way next time. It tasted ok but it was sticky and gummy.

Its whole grain brown rice and wild rice together.
