Title: Happy Pi Day
Post by: BillT on March 14, 2016, 11:28:03 AM
March 14 = Pi day (Pi = 3.14...)

People had been using computers to figure out pi to millions of decimal points, but I heard recently (probably on Science Friday and vaguely remembered) that to calculate a circle the diameter of the observable universe only 39 decimal points of pi are necessary to be accurate to the size of something small like an atom.

What I hate about pi day is that all the recipes that show up in my in box are about pies.  They think it's cute, I guess.  I think it's lame.
