I Savanna, Illinois. Our oldest son is married to a real nice girl whose father is a retired history teacher. Most of his life, he has been immersed in the study about the Civil War...re-enactments, plays depicting moments in Civil War history, and lectures on the period. Gene (Wright) has collected actual uniforms and made new ones of both sides of the conflict. They are featuring his massive collect at the Museum...he has donated it all to them, and set up the gallery. It's quite a remarkable achievement. Anyone close should stop by...you won't regret it.

Gene and I, talk for hours at the family gatherings. We share a love of history. My own history teacher was John Zweers. He was a master magician, director at Pasadena Playhouse, history teacher extraordinaire...on top of that he a master puppeteer, past President of the 'Puppeteers of America' and past president of 'Society of American Magicians'.....he had a house that was totally devoted to puppets, rare Japanese silk silhouette, marionette, hand held, and many others. He owned the original 'Punch & Judy' puppets. Gene actually had met him at a conference somewhere....LOL....times flies when I talk with Gene, just like it did with Mr Zweers....so much knowledge, and such a willingness to share. I must say tho, lots of times after the big family meals...you can find Gene and I asleep in the big chairs in the family room....  ;D
