?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ?Wow! What a Ride!? ~ Hunter S. Thompson

Sports used to be about the sport.  Now we have to endure an hour of pre-game "sports talk" with "personalities" acting foolish, creative commercials costing millions per minute, stats and analysis that sometimes require degrees in those topics to follow...or even care about... and now a garish aquarium behind home plate.  Puleeeezzee!
When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.  (Sweatpants & Coffee)

It's all about the money Pauline.  I gave up on pro baseball when the "good old boys" forced out Marge Schott in Cincinnati.  She was a threat because she believed the ticket prices should be such that any family in the area could afford to bring their kids and enjoy a ball game.

Yep, cannons, fireworks, water falls, slides, dressed up mascots racing around, even Bill Veeck would be surprised... ;D.....

I just finished reading the Wikipedia on Bill Veeck. What a life in baseball! Quite an innovator/promoter!
Happy Aquariuming,

Yeah, that's all that was wrong with Marge Schott.

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's snobbery and one-upmanship. People trying to pretend they're superior. Makes it so much harder for those of us who really are.
