Sitting atop steep cliffs in northwest China?s Shaanxi Province, this Taoist temple could qualify as one of the most dangerous constructions in the country. Perched on the top of Tayunshan Mountain at an altitude of 1,666 meters, the stone temple covers only 6 square meters. Despite its challenging setting, people have insisted on maintaining the temple, along with other constructions on the cliff, since it was built in 1582.
