I have a small collection on vintage audio gear, all bought at garage sales, estate sales, junk /thrift shops, ebay and through selling and trading up.
I don't have any out of pocket money invested,as i sell some i invest in other pieces.
Some i'm keeping unless i'm forced to sell, others are probaby for sale at the right price.
Most of the stuff i currently have is from the 70's,all silver face which i really like.
Any one else collect or have any.
My best received is a KENWOOD MODEL ELEVEN II,from about 76-77.I had a lot of work done to it,and is the only one that i have spent money on having repaired and upgraded.
I need to take some better pics of this one.
This is a PIONEER QA-800A QUAD AMP,from 72-73.
With his brother a PIONEER QL-600A QUADRALIZER AMP,when connected to a stereo receiver or amplifier turns it into a 4 channel system. From about 1973
I had an old Kenwood, and a McIntosh.....carried a Pioneer amp home from 'Nam' with me....they're all gone now.....my dad had some Fisher equipment..with those big XP 10 speakers.... ;D
The only vintage speakers i currently have .RECTILINEAR III LOWBOYS 1972,they have cloth surrounds which will never rot.Unlike the foam surround which will need to be refoamed at some point.I normally sell those because i dont know how to repair them, but if i found a great pair,i would hold on to them untill i i could afford to have them fixed.

Most McIntosh is going for BIG bucks now,out of my price range for sure,i'm still looking for that killer score at a garage sale.Hasn't happened yet. :(
A lot of the stuff you see now was brought back from over seas by vets, some of it was never imported to the US.
This is my main setup.
KENWOOD ELEVEN II RECEIVER
KENWOOD KX-830 CASSETTE DECK
KENWOOD KF-8011 AUDIO DENOISER
RECTILINEAR III LOWBOY SPEAKERS
I love my old audio gear too. AR, Elac & Technics turntables, Teac, Nakamichi, and Sansui cassette decks, Teac, Sony and Roberts reel-to-reel decks.....

Mine all broke or was given away.
I have one turntable left.
It is useful for gentle shaking a solution for long periods of time. Put some stuff in a tube. Cap it and tape to a turntable. Tilt the turntable and turn it on. The solution will slosh from one end to the other of tube. Very nice for soaking things.
Sounds like a great collection Dennis, are you a member of the AudioKarma forum, lots of great info there.
ID,repair,specs,etc.
I'm always looking for other pieces,if anyone has some they no longer use and may be willing to sell.
Please PM me with what you have.
Silver face Pioneer, marantz ,kenwood and others.Receivers, amplifier turntables, equalizers, cassette decks.
60's,70's,80's Speakers,Pioneer,bozak,wharfedale,rectilinear,JBL and others.
KENWOOD KX-830 CASSETTE
PIONEER CT-606 CASSETTE DECK,this is a euro model and not seen much in the US.
And PIONEER SX-780 RECEIVER,both from about 78-79.I love the black meters on these.

Thanks. I used to be on several of the Vintage forums, but these days I'm only on the NakTalk mailing list.
My main system is based on a Sansui A & DC Servo amp and pre-amp combo that I purchased new back in the day.

I like to rotate my equipment on a regular basis to avoid problems with the electronics, but most of the time I keep a pair of Nak 670ZX cassettes, a Teac 4010s reel-to-reel and the AR XA turntable hooked up. The computer is on one of the inputs so I can grab radio documentaries from BBC radio and listen to the local PBS stations.
A couple of years back I got into restoring tube amps and will swap out the Sansui amp for one of these when the mood hits me.
After many years of running heavy equipment and competitive shooting my hearing is not what it used to be, but I still enjoy my music all the same.....

New pair of Wharfedale W70's from 1964,i touched up some bad spots with stain, then used Howard's Restor-A-Finish Cherry on the tops and sides.
Followed by some feed-N-Wax,they were pretty ratty when i got them,i'm pleased with how they turned out.
They sound great, definitely keepers for now.
12'' Woofer,10'' Midrange and 3'' Tweeter inside the wood box, they have cloth surrounds so they will likely never rot like the foam one's.
Great looking speakers there. Enjoy them!
Dennis
Nice fix up job............crank em up !!!
I got these at the same time as the Wharfedales,Heathkit AS-10's.
Heathkit's version of an Acoustic Research AR-2 using Jensen drivers.
10'' woofer with cloth surround and dual tweeter array, from the early 70's.
They needed a little work, veneer was lifting in a couple spots, used some wood glue to fix that.
Then gave them a coat of Howard's Feed-N-Wax,made a HUGE difference.
Love the detail on the fronts, connected them for the first time today and they sound excellent.
Unfortunately i'm probably going to have to sell them :(,need the cash.
Anyone within driving distance can have these beauties for only $75.
Very nice looking speakers Greg..... makes me want to break out the CSN vinyl. LOL
