The LIGO detected gravity waves a few months ago using an interferometer with antennas of about 2.5 miles long.

NASA wants to build one with arms that are something like a million kilometers long.
Longer antennas --> more sensitive detector.
This should be like a normal telescope vs. the Hubble.
