Did a test.
New Duracells and a bunch of old batteries (Duracells, energizers, and workaholics) from my recycle bucket:

All these batteries are sold as 1.5 V batteries. They usually start out as 1.6+ volts.
I bounced them on a glass table, over the place where the glass is supported by one of the legs.

a little bounce:
