Do you go to garage sales with any particular items in mind or is it more of a social event where you might find something(s) special?

Edit:  Just read your "Garage Sale" post where there is a 90 gallon tank at one.  But my question still stands about why you go to them. Being somewhat of a hermit who doesn't like shopping I'm curious about the garage sale attraction.   :)  They're obviously very popular.

Always have an eye out for any good books, a metal frame tank, sometimes a little music box, some weird doo dad.....LOL...Jan looks for g'kid clothes, books, patterns/material, etc.....sometimes it's something like an extra bird cage, an old lamp, paintings, crafts....it's a good day to just hang out together ;D.....found a portable 6 X 6 X 6 greenhouse one time.....our Deere lawn mower another...I found a propane tube heater for working in the garage....yada yada.....we don't go all day, just a few hours in the morn'n.......on occasion, Jan and her bestest girl friend Francis to the tour.....

We came home and I cut the grass, Jan ran over and got the veggie plants for the garden,,,,put most the garden fence back up, tidied up the yard, ran and grabbed a couple big Italian beefs w/sweet peppers..dunked...yum...it was just one great putz'n day.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

we tired now...LOL....fresh air zapped us out...
