When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.  (Sweatpants & Coffee)

The first one absolutely kills!  I want some in a big way.  What a great breeding project these would be!  Forgive my prejudice but the red eye is a must have for me.  With my hb's it took until the kids were young adults before the eye color changed.  Mug, to either of the parents have the red eye?
Always move forward. Never look back.

I think one does, I'll have to check.....

Neither parent of these fish have Red eyes.......definitely darker that the lil ones but not red.

Mugs has these guys "grandparents" maybe they do?

LizStreithorst

If just one grandparent has one red eye I can select for it.  Otherwise I'll have to introduce it which will dilute the red ventral gene.  (I bet even Mug doesn't  know how to say "red ventral" in Greek ;)

Those red ventrals so far, have only shown up in a SMALL handful of lil ones that came from one, of the two pair I have here.

I have another batch of fry from that pair at just over pea size now (my old eyes can hardly see ANY ventrals let alone red ones at that size) and yet another batch that should be up and swimming tomorrow. Fingers are crossed that more show up like the one in first picture.
