I hope it's just an ice dam. That is a single one-time type issue. If you have a damaged roof, it's chronic. good luck with what you hear fro insurance, Jon.

The roof doesn't leak or we'd had water there from all that rain we had....after getting a good look up there....it seems like an ice jam....

..just got off the phone with my agent, all the damage is covered.....but the lost insulation, and possible gutter work is not....I'll find a guy to take a look, and give me an estimate....we'll go from there...

True..if the roof is undamaged....if it is, it's not covered....but I'm sure that it's not bad. The agent said he had an 'ice dam' too...his damages are covered too...and his roof is ok....after all those rains that we had, I'd know if we had a bad roof for sure...
