I was reading on a Facebook group about people claiming property damge for the aquarium leaking/breaking. Some say that the home owner insurance will cover up to 65,000 in damages. Others wouldn't cover aquariums, some offer coverage for aquariums but it's not included in the insurance.  One person said his will cover the damage but not the contents of the tank. It got me to woundering what people's thoughts where. I would have to call my insurance guy and ask. I'm pretty sure mine wouldn't cover it. If there was a catastrophic failure it could cause some damage, especially if no one was home at the time.

I think most would cover the damage, but not the contents......

Our insurer, Nationwide, says they will cover water damage if a big tank dumps water all over and floors, walls, etc are damaged.  I don't think they cover the tank or fish though.
