I'm using pool filter sand. I like it a little better, it's whiter and cleaner then play sand. and the sump is the 20L i got at the swap.

I believe it's much finer too...??....right?   How's cost the comparison?

It's around $10 for 50# bag. Play sand is around $2.50, it is finer But I don't have to wash it for hours. Just rinse it off in a bucket and bump it in. It's already pre-cleaned. the tank doesn't even cloud up. It's worth the extra cost. I get mine at The Great Escape. They have it year round. other places it seasonal.
