Title: 8 week old CPD's
Post by: BallAquatics on April 20, 2015, 12:03:07 PM
While I don't raise these in the numbers that I used to, I still like to grow-out a batch every spring.....

They look great Dennis. I'm a big fan of CPDs.  I couldn't tell if it was the lighting or different development phases...some of them were expressing a lot more color and spotting than their siblings.

You have a keen eye Pauline.  There are  several, (5 or 6), that are just a bit ahead of their siblings.  In almost any spawn you will have these, I like to call them over-achievers.  At 8 weeks old, they are just at the edge of puberty and will mature by leaps and bounds over the next 4 weeks.  At 12 weeks, they will be sexually mature, and have enough of their adult marking to determine the boys from the girls.
