We had 14 below this morning....adjoining town of Owosso has 21 below. My brother-in-law lives two hours north of us. They have 31 degrees below actual air temp!

We have a lot of windows facing east and southeast.  The sun keeps the house warm during the day thank goodness. Helps with fuel use.

Hopefully March will release some warmer weather for us.  That's a little over a week away.

Even in Fla it's darn cold. Woke up to 32 this am. But at least tomorrow will be in the 70s

Around -10 here.  When it gets this cold the geothermal runs almost all the time keeping the house warm.   ;D ;D ;D

I don't really know Jon.  We normally keep it at around 68 through out the year.  On the AC side of things, as the normal ground water temperature is 54 degrees, it wouldn't even have to break a sweat to get the house down to that 54 degree mark in the summer.

It was definitely one of our better investments.  When we first purchased this house it had fuel oil heat.  A typical winter would consume around 650 gallons of fuel.  Our last fuel purchase was at .84 cents a gallon, but since then the price of heating oil has sky rocketed much like gasoline & diesel fuel.

Less than a penny per gallon. Sweet.
