.....for a smaller community, Genoa always has a wonderful parade for "Genoa Days"....this one was over an hour long !....folks throwing candy from all the floats and vehicles....many carried water guns and water cannons to fire at the crowd...some of the younger crowd threw back water balloons...LOL...lots of bands, drum and bugle corps, fire trucks with sirens blazing, farmers with old rebuilt tractors, and school sports teams from around the area..and much more....a huge carnival on the main drag of town, and food cooking everywhere....it's quite an event, as each community in the surrounding county tries to have a better festival....they're all good..culminating in the 'Sandwich Fair'...the largest in the state..with all the above plus horse racing, tractor pulls, big flea market, farm goods sales...plus the state '4H Club' championships.....rodeo and all...if you're bored around here in the summertime....it's your own dang fault...LOL

...forgot....today the Steam Implement Club showed up with steam engines and steam farm tools...their big meet is in July out in the woods of a members farm...you can see the steam rise for miles...one of the big engines will be used to steam a couple hundred thousand ears of corn at Dekalb's 'Corn Fiest' in August...
