Quote from: Barb on Today at 04:02:29 PMHi friends, all ok here with me.  Sat at the aquarium went well, very busy of course.  I spoke to a few thousand people.  Willie, watch out for the wasps, nasty things if they get mad.  The spray with a long reach works real well and almost instantly. I have used it.  It is supposed to rain here, sure hope it does soon, things are getting very dry.  Every day now I think may be the last for my cat Lucy, she is very thin and is doing her business outside the litterbox now. Had to throw out a rug today.  And replaced it with towels I can wash.  She is deaf and blind now.  But still eating and drinking and doesn't seem to be in pain.  But so hard on me.  You all know how it goes.  I will call Liz tonight and see how she is doing and let you know.

Barb, Lucy sounds like Kobe only he can see. I thought I was going to take him to the vet this morning but after his morning nap he bounced into the room wanting to play.  huh huh Good luck to you and Lucy and to me and Kobe.

THE LOUNGE / Happy Tuesday
Last post by wsantia1 - Today at 03:58:27 PM
Good afternoon everyone. After a few cloudy and rainy days the sun is back out and the temp is at about 75 degrees. If it would stay like this I would be happy but the heat will be back for a couple of days starting tomorrow.

I'm still trying to get this house back in order after the floor install. It should have been done by now but between taking care of Kobe and the fish the days fly by quickly. I was supposed to have company this weekend but they canceled so that will give me more time to procrastinate. I'll get it done soon.

Liz, are you still in the hospital? Hopefully they patched you up good and that you will be able to get through therapy with as little stress as possible. Get well soon.

Good afternoon everyone. All is good here. Ron, those wasp are a pain in the butt. I got stuff to get rid of yellow jackets but I think what I have are paper wasp. I never heard of those but they look just like yellow jackets here. I have to get another type of trap.  huh

Well, hello muggers!

Miss Lucy and I went to Sedona with another couple Friday and got back about a couple hours ago today. Had a great time, walked through the downtown "commercial" area. Drove around to see all the wonderful red rock structures, and took a train ride through Verde Canyon, which is the second largest Canyon in Arizona next to the Grand Canyon. It was their anniversary and we were really happy to be able to provide the rooms for them and us with our Hilton Grand Vacations program. We wouldn't hesitate to travel with them again.

Got home and all the fish are in good shape and in a few minutes I'm going to go around and feed them all.

I hope all of you are doing well. How did it go with the Aquarium this month, Barb? Willie did you take care of the wasps? Liz, how are you progressing? And Dennis, are you out on your bike these days? Hope to see all of you here soon. Bye-bye for now.

THE LOUNGE / Saturday hello

Hi folks, while I wait for the Kentucky Derby to run, I will post here.  The triple crown races are the only horse racing interests for me.  My mom always really enjoyed them. BTW, May 14 would have been her 100th birthday, she missed it by just a year and a half.  I will watch it for her.

Today was my once-a-month day at the aquarium at the beach. As usual it was very busy!  When I got home I worked outside for a bit, whacking weeds, til the battery ran out.  Willie, good plan on the tanks.  I know you will still have plenty of water and fish in glass boxes!  Liz how are you doing?  Still in hosp?  Ron and Dennis what is going on for you?  More soon from me,
Barb

Hi Ron and everyone. Liz, I hope your recovery is going well. It is a typical July day here with the current temp at 90 degrees under a bright sunny day. We had a whole bunch of rain at the beginning of April but since then it has been bone dry and my grass is turning brown.

I haven't even set up my water hoses yet because I usually don't do that until July. I would have done it already but the weather people have been forecasting cooler weather with rain but so far they have been wrong this whole week. Before this mini heat wave began we had a frost warning.

So far I spent my day working in the fishroom and taking Kobe on mini walks around the outside of the house where their is some shady areas. We can't stay out long and when we do the wasp come out of hiding and run us back into the house. I will be getting some of that long distance wasp spray tomorrow because I will not allow them to prevent me from enjoying this house.

I finally decided that I will start breaking down the tanks in the fishroom that I am no longer using. I've been allowing them to run empty in case I ever needed them but there's no point in doing that now. I have enough fish for maybe tanks so that's what I'll run.

This post has frozen up on my but I managed to save the post without losing the content.  Have a great evening everyone.

THE LOUNGE / One day over the hump day!

Hi all,

It's 73 and going to 89 today. Looks like sunny skies out there now. Cacti all around are blooming! Lovely flowers.

I picked up a bunch of fish and shrimp Monday and yesterday my LFS customer came and bought most of them. It's a nice order and basically pays the cost of my order. I do make a smaller profit on his purchases. The rest is pretty much pure profit unless they hang around a long time. I debate with myself often whether to let him take all of everything or hold back some for higher margin sales. But, then, he's a customer right there in front of me!

We're leaving tomorrow for our Sedona trip and the four hour train excursion. The couple  we're going with are celebrating their 43rd anniversary. They like to play card games in the evening, so that will be fun. We'll be back Monday evening.

Liz, do you ever play online Scrabble type games? I play Words With Friends and Upwards almost every day. I could send you an invite if you want to play.

What are you folks doing today?

Hi Liz, just to help pass time while in the hospital, do watch TV!  I recommend the History  channel, discovery channel, PBS Explorer, Travel channel, to name a few.  They have wonderful shows.  You can travel the world from your bed!  Hospitals usually have satellite TV or cable with many channels.  Let us know what you find to interest you!  I know you miss your pets!
