RIP Dr. Herbert Richard Axelrod

Dr. H. R. Axelrod was born on June 7, 1928; he passed last month on May 15, 2017 at 88 years of age.  Although he was a controversial figure in the aquarium hobby, perhaps the most controversial figure in this hobby for all time, it can't be argued that he was one of the most influential figures in our hobby greatly affecting the hobby as a whole.

He certainly was influential in my youth...I read every one of the TFH mags that I had a subscription to for years from cover to cover....Always loved the articles about his Amazon trips...
