Waaaaay to loud,i worked in shops that had Macaws  and wanted to kill them at times.

I thought about getting one many years ago,until i read about them.
They shoot their liquid shit all over the place,that would get old very fast.

If i got a bird it would probably be a cockatiel,a lutino one,affordable,trainable and not insanely noisy.
Scarlet  chested grass parakeets are really nice,but i don't think you can handle them like some of the larger parrots.

  The 'Scarlets' are wonderful little birds....we saw a few at the last bird breeder swap last month. We've had cockatiels/finches/etc for many, many years....Jan has bred varieties of both. We have a cockatiel youngster now that is now only four months, raised here, and is a real character...we'll be selling him off here soon....
   You should go to one of the bird fairs....there's one in Joliet about once a month, or so....
