Late-Winter and CWD Deer Seasons Concluding:  County permits for the final segment of the 2012-2013 Late-Winter Firearm Antlerless-only Deer Season and the CWD Deer Season are available over the counter (OTC) through DNR Direct license and permit vendors.  The final segment of the Late-Winter and CWD seasons is this weekend, Jan. 18-20.  Detailed information is available on the IDNR website at this link:  http://www.dnr.illinois.gov/hunting/ deer/Pages/ResidentLateWinterAntlerlessDeerHunting.aspx



Archery deer and archery fall turkey permits are also still available OTC through the end of those seasons on Jan. 20.



Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet - Jan. 31:  Tickets are still available for the annual Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet, the evening of Thursday, Jan. 31 at Drury Lane Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace.  Inductees are Marcia and Ken Polhamus of Galena.  Proceeds from the Hall of Fame Banquet assist in funding Illinois Conservation Foundation youth scholarships. 2013 Illinois Licenses Available Jan. 21:  Illinois fishing, hunting and sportsman?s combination licenses for 2013 will be available starting Jan. 21 from DNR Direct license and permit vendors, online through the IDNR website www.dnr.illinois.gov/online/Pages/ default.aspx or by calling 1-888-6PERMIT (1-888-673-7648). The system is available 24 hours a day. The 2013 licenses purchased beginning Jan. 21 will be valid through Mar. 31, 2014 unless otherwise noted.



Chicagoland Fishing, Travel and Outdoor Expo:  Visit with Illinois DNR staff and learn more about efforts to combat aquatic invasive species, including Asian carp, during the Chicagoland Fishing, Travel and Outdoor Expo, Jan. 24-27 at the Schaumburg Convention Center at I-90 and I-290 (Route 53), Schaumburg.  For more information:  www.sportshows.com/chicago/index.html



Spring Turkey Applications:  Hunters may apply for 2013 Illinois Spring Wild Turkey Season permits online. Go to the IDNR website for more information at this link:

The application deadline for the third lottery for spring turkey permits is Feb. 11. 



Spring Youth Turkey:  Spring Youth Turkey Special Hunt Area online permit applications will be accepted online from Jan. 15-Feb. 18.  For more information on 2013 spring turkey hunting, check the IDNR website at this link:

Spring Youth Turkey Season County Permits will be available over-the-counter from IDNR license/permit vendors beginning on March 5.



Illinois Deer and Turkey Expo:  Illinois is a great place for deer and turkey hunting, and the IDNR invites you to learn more about deer and turkey hunting opportunities by visiting with IDNR staff at the 23rd annual Illinois Deer and Turkey Expo on Feb. 1-3 in Springfield.  The IDNR will have license and permit information and a chance to buy 2013 licenses at the Expo.  The Illinois Deer and Turkey Expo will be held on Feb. 1-3 at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.  For more information, check the website at http://www.deerinfo.com/illinois
