I made the move.  The male immediatly started chowing down on the eggs so I ran quick and got a cage to put over the cone, put a little meth blue on them and an airstone bubbling slowly next to them.

This is how I have always caged my Discus eggs.  The eggs and wigglers are safe until they swim out of the cage.  By that time, the parents have been watching them and falling in love with the wigglers and the fry attached.

That did not work with this male.  I caught him red handed swimming into the cone from the top to eat the eggs!  Never seen a Discus do that before!

They are still guarding their wad of fungus on the lift tube that I moved along with them, and attacking me during WC.
Always move forward. Never look back.
