That looks very interesting.  The pairing had never occurred to me.  I googled around and found this.  It sure does sound interesting.  I'd have to buy 3 ingredients from Amazon but my mind's taste buds say it might just be worth the bother.  http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/grilled-apple-marinated-short-ribs

Yep, they all have the same flavor profile, sweet, tart and beefy.
