....to request prayers or positive thoughts sent this way. My nearly 89 year old Dad suffered a broken hip. Surgery Sunday morning.
In the commotion of the day I rushed out to the hospital and left my RO unit running. Was going to put the float valve on it.....procrastination..... :o. Lotsa water on the basement floor. Luckily it's cement in the fish room. Imagine.....my first thought was "all that wasted RO water".
praying for your father
Sending thoughts and prayers your way!!
Awesome that at least it was a concrete floor!!!
Thank you both.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.....
Thanks Jon.
Hope everything goes well for him, Pauline.
Hope all goes well for your dad! Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
And the same from me too Pauline, pm coming your way.
Barb
We will be thinking of you and your father around here Pauline. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery.
Dennis
Best wishes Pauline.
Thanks so much everyone. Surgery went well. Afterwards he was groggily stating he wanted to get back to his room because the Tiger game started at 1:00. :)
He's frail due to previous health issues but has an excess of determination with a healthy dose of stubbornness. That and all the well wishes have things going in the right direction.
a quote from my favorite guy.....your Dad sounds like my kinda guy too....good for him ;D
?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ?Wow! What a Ride!? ~ Hunter S. Thompson
I'm happy that surgery went well. thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Glad it went well. Hope he has a speedy recovery! <3
Glad your father is doing well
Thanks so much for thinking of and praying for my Dad. He was moved to ICU with pneumonia and low blood pressure but only for a day. He is back in a regular room and they have him sitting up in chair. He looked a lot better yesterday. :)
Sounds like the normal up/down/up.....now on the up, he'll be home soon... ;D
I am continuing to think of you and your dad Pauline. Rehab for him soon I bet. Take care of yourself,
Barb
Good to hear he's getting better. Prayers still with you.
Thanks again everyone. Appreciate the prayers Willie.
Jon...yes re the up and down stuff. He survived a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm ten years ago. Total roller coaster ride!
Barb you are right. He was moved to transitional care today. And the fish are a good diversion. The hospital and my Dad's house are 80 miles away. The daily travels are pretty tiring.
Well the prayers and my Dad's determination have truly been a success. This 89 year old guy was sitting outdoors enjoying a hot dog and watermelon this afternoon. He's got a ways to go but it's great to visit him seeing improvement each time.
Thank you. :)
That's great news Pauline! Thanks for the update.
Dennis
Wonderful news, that's good to hear.
That's very good news. :)
That's great news Pauline! Thanks for the update. :D
Am happy to share the joy.
Again....thanks.
Good news Pauline, he is a strong man, just like my mom is a strong lady of 89. What month was he born? My mom, May 1924.
Barb
My Dad was born November 15, 1924.
My friend's Mom is in the same age bracket. The only thing wrong with her is she's hard of hearing. She doesn't even have to wear reading glasses!
So good to hear that he is enjoying life again.
Thanks Liz.
That is great news Pauline. I'm happy he is getting better.
Thanks so much.
The roller coaster ride continues. They said my Dad was possibly going to be released "in the next week or so" from the transitional care unit. Sunday he went back into the hospital due to aspiration pneumonia and stomach problems. CT scan yesterday.....
The fish as a diversion....I have the cleanest tanks in town. ;)
That's too bad, I'm hoping it's just a bump in the road to recovery. The tank cleaning is good therapy, it keeps you busy.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Sorry about the set-back Pauline. The fish are definitely very therapeutic...
Dennis
I hope all turns out well.
Thank you all. Today's visit was pretty disconcerting. He is in a state of confusion.... :-\
Hope he rebounds Pauline, he is a strong man.
Barb
Thanks Barb.
