Today was a sad one for me....

...up at 8 this morning...coffee and newspaper...then off to help with the BBQ burgers and brats at the clubhouse...Then off to the GI specialist....

...I went over my past and current situations with him about some serious GERD stuff and the recent bouts with GI issues...I told him I'm concerned about the possibility of Barrett's Syndrome, so I'm going to have an endoscopy next Friday...

...terrible news though...he said to stop drinking coffee and no more chocolate...!    Da-yam! ...I've got a whole bag of Hershey Kisses that I love to pop 3-5 of them into my left cheek then sip black coffee...!  And I've got a Snickers bar hidden away for an emergency....! 

...Should I binge one last time and eat it all with a huge cup of coffee?.......

...AND...

...will you guys still let me in on the daily coffee thread???...Pu-leez???

I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma.....but your health comes first....did you ask about decaf?.....tea?....there are very good teas out there..

I believe one last binge is in order...yes....that is if it doesn't interfere with Friday's test...

as for the coffee thread.....sure you can enter...LOL....

Sorry to hear about your health issues Ron.

It's always been my opinion that if you don't do what the Doc tells you, you just wasted your time going.

You'll always be welcome here at Mugwump's     no matter which forum it is...

Sorry about your situation Ron. Since you only have a few pieces of chocolate left I would binge and then stop. Barrett's Syndrome is very serious and you may never be able to enjoy them again.

I also suffer from GERDS. It got to the point where I had to have surgery in my throat to remove lesions caused by the back flow of stomach acid.

Thankfully I am still able to enjoy my coffee and some chocolate but nowhere nearly as much as before. Hopefully your 'scope comes out well and maybe all you'll need is an adjustment on your meds.

...so I'm sitting out here on the deck, enjoying this warm weather and having a mug of decaf coffee, and...shhhh...a small binge of Hershey kisses....

...I know, Dennis...so I'm doing 1/2 of it so far...!

...apparently I've been taking my Prilosec incorrectly....he told me to take it 1/2 hour before breakfast and dinner....I told him I don't eat breakfast and he said to start it, and that I would lose weight doing it....we'll see...so that makes 2 specialists in 2 days telling me to lose weight...but I did call and ask about decaf coffee...1 or 2 a day is okay...

....so much for doctor talk for the day...  Moving on now....
