Grove was a legendary figure in Silicon Valley and played a key role in the formation of the infamous WinTel alliance, where he and Microsoft Founder and then-CEO Bill Gates saw their respective companies mushroom from small startups into the most important technology providers in the world during the late 1980s until the end of the 1990s.
