It's OK with me if you laugh at us, we deserve it.  But 2" of ice with 3" of snow on top of it did cause some troubles here.  People just don't know how to drive on it.  I lived in Edmonton Alberta CA long ago, so I remember what real winter is.  I even liked it up there.  Skiing, ice skating, fun fun!

I know Barb, it's generic poke really meant for the Atlanta area...that not only didn't have the vaguest idea of what to do,,,but then they let everyone in Atlanta all go home at once...sheesh, that traffic alone would snarl the roads...add snow/ice.....and boomba..chaos....

They did a better job for us here in southeast Mississippi..  They knew that it was coming and they warned us well.  They sanded the bridges even here in the sticks (it only helped the until the ice melted and then re-froze.)  Until last week we have never needed salt.    We don't even have salt for road spreading here.  They told us to stay hunkered down and for the most part we did.  We had 5 deaths.  four were from a house fire due to a space heater.  Only one was due to a traffic accident.  They checked on the homeless and offered them a warm refuge.  Mississippi done good.
