...spent a few hours rinsing STS for the substrate...it's very dusty and takes a long time when you just put it in a bucket and swirl it...you'd be dumping the bucket 10-15 times to get the water down to milky clear...and that's when the bucket's not anywhere near full... but I used a colander with screen material lining it, set the the colander across the top of a 5g bucket...I cut a slit near the bottom of the bucket so water would flow out and I wouldn't have to dump it...next step was to put about 2/3 gallon of the the substrate into the screened colander and put the hose on it until the water got as clear as it was gonna get....
