I'm hoping this will be my new pair. I'm thinking that the albino is a male. I'm just not to sure I'm ready to give him up. he is gorgeous. the picture doesn't do him justice. I would almost like to see him pair up with the albino koi. and the female is the clown. they are both from frank. I got the albinos when they were just little guys. now they are all grown up. I'm just not sure I'm ready to breed albinos.

Very, very nice angel....superb pic too.....kudos, my friend, good job..
Might not be so terrible to breed these as albinos. They were fairly robust and had a good survival rate. You did a good job on those.
Those aren't related to mine, are they Frank??

The tank with out the slate has the Pb clown spawn and the second good spawn from the St Isabel/Rio Negro. they spawned hours apart. The St Isabel/Rio Negro got there eggs to wigglers then just let them drop and wouldn't look at the wigglers so I pulled it and put it in with the other wigglers. They are starting to free swim. If you look hard you can see a white dot above the filter that's one of the fry.
The tank with the slate in it is from the Albino/clown pair. It took them a week to spawn. I think I'll keep this spawn and give the pair back to Dan. Let's see if he can get them to spawn in a week ;D. I'm interested to see what there fry will look like. I think there should be some albino?
It's looking real good, Scott. Screw Dan...LOL..get another spawn first... ;D
That's funny you mentioned that. I just got off the phone with him. He said to keep her. He's not set up just yet to breed angels. plus he said if there that comfortable to breed that quick, then they should stay where there at. He asked for some of the fry when there ready.
I think that's a good deal.

I love it when a plan comes together. Remember to pick about 12 of the very best for future pairs and crosses. You can sell the rest. Heck, we'll get two tables at the swap, or you and Dan grab a table...then price em to sell.....make some xtra $$$$'s..... ;D ;D ;D...
Yep I love it too. I didn't want to give up the smokey albino. But I already told him that I would find a partner for his clown. I'm a man of my word and if that's the fish she chooses then so be it. Plus I do know that Dan would take care of them. Dan and I were talking about getting a table at the swap. when you come over next week I'll talk with you about it. :)
Cool beans.....sounds good
I'm thinking that the albino is a female or just doesn't like the clown. She laid today, she would chase the albino off and when he did get near the slate he just started to eat the eggs. Looks like i'm going to have to find her another boyfriend :-\.
Use the male HE that you picked up here... ;D
I was thinking of that as I was watching the other fill up on caviar. She is a fertile thing fills the slate up. It would be a waste not to breed her.
Amen.....put them both in a bucket for a bit, then reintroduce her/him to the tank....might make the initial meeting go smoother?
I put the HE and clown in a bucket and changed there water. I'm not to sure she is going to like him. She has him cornered behind the slate and won't let him out. She is being such a little snot.

She'll let him out soon...... ;D poor guy...
It's been a good day. I got my filters cleaned. Did water changes. Made two java moss mats.
Oh and the Clown and HE spawned. I'm happy that there getting along. I watched them spawn too.
It's so neat to watch them do there thing. I also have a new spawn from the chocolate blues and the Sta Isabel/Rio Negro have wigglers on the slate that there parenting. And the fry in the 2.5 are doing great. Yep it's been a good day.
Well, good for you.....it's nice to hear the good news.....now, more tanks ;D ;D ;D ;D
Things are going well in your fishroom. Lots of little angels in there.
Sounds like you must be doing everything right! Congrats on all the success.
Dennis
The clown/HE have wigglers but they let them fall to the bottom of the slate. There still tending them. Should I let them keep going or should I pull them? The chocolate blues eat there's. And the Sta Isabel/Rio Negro have free swimmers.
I think I'm going to let the clown/HE pair keep there spawn they seem happy to keep trying to get them to stick back to the slate.
Good plan....the HE's have a PB in there.....you'll get some more PB clowns, and others ;D
The fry are starting to free swim. I think they are eatting some. There isn't as many as there was. This is there first spawn together. I'm a little surprised they keep them this long. We'll see if they let any make it. I also moved the fry in the 2.5 to a the 10 gallon. They seem happier now that they have more room. Then I pulled a new spawn from the chocolate blue. She is trying to be a good mommy but they keep eating there spawns. I pulled the slate and put in another and she is fanning the empty slate. Next spawn they have I'll let them keep it.
Good luck....sounds like you'll be busy there ;D
They ate them them all. I was afraid they would do that. Maybe I'll pull there next spawn. The Pb fry are doing good in there new home. And I have only lost a few eggs so far from the chocolate blue. I was thinking the St Isabel/Rio Negro ate there wigglers but I found 5 little guys swimming by daddy today. I didn't see anything for the past two days. Maybe the clown/He will do the same.
Well that stinks....but you've got some going, that's sweet.... ;D
The clown/He spawned again, This time the spawn is mine. They can have the next one. also the chocolate blues are almost free swimming. I do think I might be getting the hang of this. I'm going to try and feed them microworms this time around. I need to get use to the smell of them things.
LOL...smells not that bad.....I use bbs on new fry, then use the worms as a supplement....
Do I have that backwards? I was thinking that the worms were smaller than the shrimp and easier for smaller fry to eat. I just don't like the smell of the yeast. But I do have two cultures going good.
fresh hatched bbs is the smallest and best for free swimmers...lots of protein in those unused sacs...the worms are very good too, and live longer in the water than bbs..
I have wigglers! The first tank is the Chocolate Blue fry. They just started to free swim. The second tank is the Clown/He wigglers.
The next is fry from a Pb clown Pair and the St Isabel/Rio Negro pair. There is two spawns in this tank. They spawned hours apart so I put the spawns together.
This is the first spawn from the St Isabel/Rio Negro @ 3? months old. They parent raised this spawn. They also have a few fry that they are raising from there latest spawn. The St Isabel/Rio Negro are super shy and don't like to be messed with, so I didn't film there new spawn
I'm thinking I might need more tanks. LOL ;D
Yes, more tanks..... ;D good job
Those are great videos. You really captured the detail well.
Thanks Jon and Pauline. I found out if I turn off there light and use the light on the camera it works better for a video. Not so much the still pics.
It's been a busy day. I cleared out a tank for the next generation of St Isabel/Rio Negro and the Pb clown spawn. I moved another St Isabel/Rio Negro spawn. That's three spawns going from that pair. I messed up with there last spawn. I cleaned there tank to early and they ate all but 5. But they did parent raise them 5. I'm not to sure about the albino fry from the clown/He fry I just can't seem to get them to eat. There fry that aren't albino are doing good. I also lost a lot of the chocolate blue fry. I forgot one of there feedings. I also have another spawn from the clown/He. They went to wigglers and then they moved the spawn to a nice flat rock in the tank. Maybe they'll parient raise this spawn.
It sounds like you're getting the hang of it ;D cool... 8)
Those blasted albinos take some experimenting but you'll get it

I didn't do anything special with them this time. I wanted to see if by some miracle they would do good by them self. Next time I'm going to put them in a smaller 1 gallon jar with less water. Probably no lighting? I know they are light sensitive.
I lost most of the clown/He spawn that I pulled. then they spawned again. they got them to wigglers and moved the spawn a couple of times before eating them. That was a few days ago. then they spawned again today. I'm going to let them keep trying. they seem so close to parent raising.
