....I'm getting ready to order some heaters and begin to swap out the 'oldies'....I'll clean up any decent ones and save them for spares. There's a bunch that are over working and a few the seem intermittent......I might be able to pull them apart and tidy up the contact/elements??....that works well sometimes.... ;D

I'll be having to do the same pretty soon.  I like the Fluval because it has a temperature/degree indicator on it.  The heater in the family room tank has dropped to 77 degrees and won't go back up.

So much for convenience.  However amongst the toys in back room there's a wine temp thermometer and an infra-red point and register the temp "gun".

They're fun.  I registered the temp on just about everything in the fish room...doors, walls, the floor, lights....oh yeah, and even the water in the tanks.   ::)

Pauline, Have you used it to" play "with your fish? They chase the red lights on the temp. gun that Jon has. It is funny making them go back and forth in the tank with them trying to eat the lights.  ;D ;D ;D

I must admit that yes, the dog isn't the only critter around here that plays "chase the dot".  The fish like to chase it also.   ::) It's hard to move it around without letting it get in their eyes though. I wonder what they think they're chasing??
