The voices were good.  The instrumentation was great.  The music was very simple as were the lyrics.  Here's one from just a couple of years later that still brings tears to my eyes.  Decent lyrics, excellent instrumentation like they had when they could afford real musicians, and sung in such a heartfelt way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOVQ4vAmM7Y

What I like more is the stuff before my time.  Big Band for example and the great blues singers like Billie Holliday.  Then there was Ella, and later Janis.  Gershwin rocks my boat.
