what is the proper definition in the tropical fish industry/hobby of "Breeding Group" ?????

,,usually a trio, or pod, or possibly pre breeders of species...
trio of guppies, etc
Pod of cory's...
group of unpaired species...?
I heard colony used in cichlids.

i have heard of colonies for a number of species..plecos and rift lake species especially...
but to me it has always meant a group of fish of the same species that had already spawned and produced viable fry..the key word being "Breeding"
