Sunday made a big pot of pasta fagioli soup. Boy loves going to OG just for that. Well and the calamari too. Too darn expensive though. Came out real good too. Getting tired of it though. He's not. Had to buy some junior mints for boy so he feels like it's OG.

I use the Ditalini

The soup I make is a lot different than what I grew up with though. Ours was spaghetti with beans. Literally pasta and beans. With a red gravy of course. Sometimes a meat sauce. That's the thing with Italian food. While the dish may have the same names the ingredients are totally dependent on the area and what is available fresh. At least that's the way it used to be.

I'm still trying to find an eggplant recipe my grandparents used to make. My cousin (she's 105) gave me a recipe that she uses but again she's from a different region and it wasn't what I wanted.

And in no way shape or form is OG or Carrabas Italian food.
